Professional-Grade Copper Nickel (Kunifer) Brake Pipe

When you are crawling under a vehicle to replace crusty brake lines, you only want to do the job once. While standard copper pipe is cheap and easy to bend, it lacks the structural integrity required for long-term safety under high-pressure hydraulic systems. That is where Copper Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) comes in.

Kunifer is the industry standard for professional brake line fabrication. By alloying copper with nickel, you get a pipe that is vastly superior in fatigue strength and salt-corrosion resistance compared to standard copper, while remaining far easier to manipulate and flare than rigid steel OE lines.

Why Choose Kunifer Over Standard Copper?

Standard copper is highly malleable, but it work-hardens quickly and is prone to stress-cracking over time due to road vibrations and constant pressure cycles. Kunifer resists this fatigue, ensuring the line will not degrade or split under pressure. More importantly for UK workshops, its resistance to road salt and moisture is exceptional, making it the ultimate fit-and-forget solution for MOT repairs.

In the Workshop

On the bench, Kunifer strikes the perfect balance. It is stiff enough to hold its shape neatly along the chassis runs without sagging, yet malleable enough to be formed with a quality pipe bender without kinking. It takes a DIN or SAE flare cleanly without splitting, ensuring a perfect, leak-free seal at the union every time.

  • Superior Fatigue Strength: Resists work-hardening and vibration-cracking far better than pure copper.
  • High Corrosion Resistance: Impervious to road salt, moisture, and harsh under-car environments.
  • Excellent Workability: Easy to flare and bend by hand or tool without kinking.
  • Professional Finish: Provides a neat, OE-quality look that inspires confidence at MOT time.

Please note: The physical appearance of the pipe coil may vary slightly from the image shown.

(Pipe may differ to image shown)

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.

Images are generic, actual kit contents or made up pipe may differ depending on fitment.
