The Professional Choice for Brake Line Replacement

When you're replacing crusty steel brake lines to get a vehicle through its MOT, you want a material that is easy to work with but built to last. While standard copper is often the default choice because it’s cheap and soft, Copper Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) is the professional workshop standard.

Pure copper is highly malleable, but it has a lower fatigue strength and can suffer from work-hardening under constant pressure cycles. Copper Nickel solves this by blending the corrosion resistance of copper with the structural strength of nickel. It is highly resistant to the harsh road salt, grime, and moisture that routinely rot out steel lines under the chassis.

In the Workshop

Working with Kunifer is straightforward. Whilst it is slightly stiffer than pure copper, it still bends easily by hand or with a pipe-bending tool without kinking. More importantly, it takes a clean, sharp bubble or double flare without splitting, ensuring a perfect, leak-free seal against your brake union fittings. Because of its superior burst pressure rating and resistance to vibration fatigue, using Copper Nickel means you are installing a brake line that will likely outlast the vehicle itself.

  • Superior Durability: Excellent resistance to road salt, moisture, and chemical corrosion.
  • High Fatigue Strength: Resists work-hardening and handles high-pressure hydraulic braking cycles safely.
  • Easy to Form: Can be bent and routed around chassis legs without kinking, and flares reliably every time.
  • Professional Finish: Ideal for complete brake overhauls, custom builds, and permanent MOT-standard repairs.

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.

We can manufacture pipes to your exact specifications.
