The Professional Standard for Brake Line Replacement
When you're faced with a crusty, corroded brake line on the ramp, you need a replacement that won't just pass the MOT today, but will last the lifetime of the vehicle. While standard copper pipe has been a workshop go-to for years because it's easy to bend, it lacks the fatigue strength required for modern, high-pressure ABS and ESP braking systems. That’s where HF60 Copper Nickel (Kunifer) brake pipe comes in.
Often referred to as CuNi, NiCopp, or cupro-nickel, this alloy combines the best properties of copper and nickel. It offers the ultimate defense against road salt, moisture, and underbody grime, making it virtually impervious to the corrosion that kills OEM steel lines.
Why Choose Copper Nickel Over Standard Copper?
Pure copper is soft. Under constant hydraulic pressure cycling and chassis vibration, it can work-harden and eventually crack. Kunifer (HF60) has a significantly higher fatigue strength and burst pressure rating. This makes it the only sensible choice for modern vehicles running high-pressure systems, while still being far easier to route and flare than rigid steel piping.
In the Workshop
From a mechanic's perspective, HF60 strikes the perfect balance on the tools:
Easy Flaring: Unlike tough steel lines that ruin hand-held flaring tools, this copper-nickel alloy forms perfect single or double flares (SAE or DIN) with minimal effort and no splitting.
Clean Bending: It is malleable enough to be bent by hand or with a pipe bender around tight chassis corners without kinking or collapsing the inner bore.
Fit and Forget: Once installed, this pipe will not rust. It saves you from doing the same job twice and gives your customer a premium, long-lasting repair.
Note: Pipe appearance may differ slightly from the image shown depending on production runs, but the metallurgical specification remains identical.

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.
