Professional Grade Copper-Nickel (Kunifer) Brake Pipe

When you're under a vehicle replacing corroded brake lines for an MOT pass, you want a material that is easy to work with but built to last. While standard copper pipe is soft and easy to bend, it lacks the structural integrity required for long-term peace of mind. That is where Copper-Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) comes in.

Kunifer is the industry standard for professional brake line fabrication. By alloying copper with nickel and iron, this pipe delivers the perfect balance of workability and high-strength durability. It offers significantly higher fatigue strength than standard copper, meaning it can easily withstand the constant pressure spikes of modern ABS systems and the structural vibrations of daily driving without work-hardening or cracking.

Why Choose Copper-Nickel Over Standard Copper or Steel?

  • Superior Corrosion Resistance: Unlike steel, Kunifer will not rust. Unlike standard copper, it resists the harsh chemical road salts and moisture that ruin brake lines during British winters.
  • High Fatigue Strength: Copper-Nickel has a much higher pressure rating and fatigue threshold than pure copper, making it safer for high-pressure hydraulic braking systems.
  • Easy to Flare and Bend: While steel lines require heavy-duty hydraulic flaring tools and are incredibly difficult to route, Kunifer can be easily bent by hand (or with a hand-held pipe bender) and flares perfectly every time using standard workshop flaring tools (SAE or DIN).

Workshop Tips for Best Results

To get a factory-quality finish, we recommend using a dedicated pipe straightening tool before making your bends. When flaring Kunifer, ensure you use a smear of brake fluid on the die to get a perfectly formed, leak-free flare without scoring the metal. This pipe is ideal for fabricating brake lines, clutch lines, and fuel lines.

Please note: The physical appearance and packaging of the coil may vary slightly from the image shown, but the material specification and quality remain identical.
