When you're replacing corroded brake lines to get a car through its MOT, you want a material that is easy to work with but built to last. Standard steel lines are a nightmare for rusting out, and while pure copper is soft and easy to bend, it lacks structural strength and can suffer from work-hardening and fatigue over time. That is where Copper Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) comes in.
Kunifer is the industry standard for professional brake line fabrication. By blending copper with nickel, this pipe offers the absolute best of both worlds. It is highly resistant to the harsh road salt, grime, and moisture that ruin steel lines, and it boasts a significantly higher fatigue strength than standard copper. This means it can easily withstand the high-pressure cycles of modern braking systems without the risk of cracking or splitting.

From a practical perspective, Kunifer is slightly stiffer than pure copper, but it remains highly malleable. You can still form neat, precise bends by hand or with a pipe bender without worrying about the tube kinking. It takes a flare exceptionally well—whether you are running single or double flares—provided you are using a decent quality flaring tool.
If you are plumbing a classic restoration, replacing a section of crusty hardline, or upgrading a track car, using copper nickel means doing the job once and doing it right. It is a fit-and-forget solution that won't leave you worrying about corrosion failures down the road.
Please note: The actual pipe supplied may differ slightly in appearance from the image shown depending on production runs, but the material specification remains identical.
