Clutch Pipe Audi Quattro UR (ACP062)
When you are replacing brake lines, you need a material that is easy to route but tough enough to survive the harsh environment under a vehicle. While standard copper pipe is easy to bend, it lacks the fatigue strength required for long-term safety under high pressure. Steel is incredibly tough but rusts quickly and is a nightmare to flare without commercial hydraulic equipment. Copper Nickel—commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp—is the professional mechanic's choice because it solves both problems.
This copper nickel alloy provides the perfect balance of workability and durability. It offers significantly higher fatigue strength than standard copper, meaning it easily handles the constant pressure cycles and engine vibrations of modern braking systems without work-hardening or cracking. Just as importantly, its superior corrosion resistance means it won't rot out when exposed to wet weather and road salt on UK roads.
Real-World Workshop Applications:
Brake Line Fabrication: Ideal for replacing corroded OEM steel lines. It bends smoothly by hand or with a hand-held pipe bender without kinking, and takes a clean, precise SAE or DIN flare every time.
Clutch & Fuel Lines: Highly resistant to chemical degradation, making it suitable for hydraulic clutch lines and fuel routing.
Classic Car Restorations: Offers a long-lasting upgrade over original steel lines, ensuring the vehicle won't fail its MOT on corroded brake pipes years down the line.
Key Advantages:
High Fatigue Strength: Resists cracking under high pressure and vibration, making it far safer than pure copper for braking systems.
Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Impervious to road salt, moisture, and chemical exposure.
Easy to Work With: Pliable enough to route through tight chassis legs and easy to flare using standard workshop flaring tools.
Please note: The physical appearance or packaging of the pipe coil may differ slightly from the image shown, but the material specification and quality remain exactly as described.
Material: Copper Nickel
(Pipe may differ to image shown)
Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.
