Clutch Pipe Aston Martin DB4 LHD (ACP045)
Copper Nickel (Kunifer) Brake & Fuel Pipe
Every mechanic in the UK knows the headache of rotted brake lines failing an MOT. While standard copper pipe is cheap and easy to bend, it lacks the structural integrity and long-term durability required for harsh under-car environments. That is where Copper Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) comes in. It is the industry standard for professional-grade brake and fuel line replacement.
Kunifer offers the perfect balance of workability and strength. It contains nickel and iron, which gives it vastly superior corrosion resistance compared to standard copper—crucial for surviving wet winters and salted British roads. It also boasts a much higher fatigue strength, meaning it resists cracking under the constant vibration of chassis movement and engine harmonics, whilst easily handling the high hydraulic pressures of modern braking systems.
In the Workshop:
If you are routing new lines along chassis rails or tucking them into tight engine bays, Kunifer behaves exactly how you want it to. While it is slightly stiffer to bend than pure copper, it holds its shape far better and won't sag between mounting clips. It flares cleanly without splitting when using a decent quality flaring tool (OP1 and OP2 flares) and creates a reliable, leak-free seal against tube nuts and unions.
Superior Corrosion Resistance: Far more resilient to road salt, moisture, and grime than standard copper or steel lines.
High Fatigue Strength: Resists work-hardening and cracking caused by vehicle vibration.
High Pressure Rating: Safely handles the extreme hydraulic pressures of braking and clutch systems.
Workable Material: Can be bent and flared using standard workshop tools without kinking.
Versatile Application: Ideal for brake lines, clutch lines, fuel systems, and vacuum lines.
Please note: The physical appearance of the pipe coil may differ slightly from the image shown, but the material specification and grade remain identical.

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.
