When you're replacing brake, clutch, or hydraulic lines—especially on classic restorations or vehicles subjected to harsh UK road salt—material choice determines how long the repair will last. While standard copper is easy to bend, it lacks the fatigue strength required for long-term safety under high pressure. Steel is incredibly tough but prone to severe corrosion and is notoriously difficult to flare and route without expensive hydraulic tools.
This 56-inch pre-cut Copper Nickel (often referred to in the workshop as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) pipe offers the perfect middle ground for professional technicians. It provides the high fatigue strength and superior pressure resistance of steel, combined with the workability of copper. It bends cleanly without kinking and takes a perfect single or double flare every time, ensuring a leak-free seal at the union.
Designed for applications requiring the HU15 and HU15A specifications, this 1/4" pipe is highly resistant to chemical corrosion and road grime, making it a fit-and-forget solution that easily passes MOT inspections year after year.
Why Use Kunifer Over Standard Copper or Steel?
Superior Fatigue Resistance: Unlike pure copper, copper-nickel alloy resists work-hardening and cracking under constant system pressure and chassis vibration.
Maximum Corrosion Protection: Highly resistant to rust, road salt, and moisture, making it ideal for under-car routing.
Workshop Friendly: Bends smoothly by hand or with a standard pipe bender, and flares cleanly without splitting the pipe wall.
Pre-Cut Convenience: Supplied in a 56-inch length to save you time straightening and cutting from a bulk coil on specific HU15/HU15A runs.

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.
