The Professional’s Choice for Brake Line Replacement

When a vehicle rolls into the bay with corroded brake lines, you need a replacement that won’t just pass the MOT today, but will last the lifetime of the vehicle. While standard copper pipe is cheap and easy to bend, it lacks the structural integrity and fatigue strength required for high-pressure modern braking systems. That is where Copper-Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) brake pipe comes in.

This alloy combines the natural corrosion resistance of copper with the high tensile strength of nickel. In the real world, this means a line that won't degrade when subjected to road salt, moisture, and road grime. It is the definitive "fit and forget" solution for brake line fabrication.

In the Workshop: Bending and Flaring

From a mechanic's perspective, Kunifer strikes the perfect balance between workability and toughness:

  • Superior Fatigue Strength: Unlike standard copper, which can work-harden and become brittle under constant chassis vibration, Kunifer retains its structural integrity, preventing hairline cracks and pressure failures.
  • Reliable Flaring: It forms a perfect SAE single or double flare (and DIN/Bubble flares) without splitting, ensuring a leak-free seal at the union every time.
  • Formability: While slightly stiffer than pure copper, it can still be easily routed and shaped using standard hand-held pipe bending tools without kinking.

If you are plumbing in new lines for a restoration project, upgrading a track car, or simply replacing a crusty MOT failure on a daily driver, upgrading to Copper-Nickel is a no-brainer. It saves you from future comebacks and gives your customer a braking system they can rely on.

Material: Copper Nickel

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.

We can manufacture pipes to your exact specifications.
