Clutch Pipe AC Aceca Bristol (ACP007) COPPER NICKEL

HF12 Copper Nickel (Kunifer) Brake Pipe

When you are replacing corroded brake lines, you want a material that strikes the right balance between workability and long-term durability. Standard copper is easy to bend but lacks the fatigue strength needed to withstand years of road vibration. Steel is incredibly tough but a nightmare to flare and route without professional-grade hydraulic tools. This HF12 Copper Nickel brake pipe (often called CuNi, Kunifer, or NiCopp) is the industry-standard solution that gives you the best of both worlds.

This copper-nickel alloy is engineered specifically to survive the harsh environment underneath a vehicle. If you are prepping a car for an MOT, replacing crusty lines over a rear subframe, or carrying out a classic restoration, this pipe is the reliable choice for fabricating high-pressure brake lines.

Why Use Copper Nickel Over Standard Copper?

  • Superior Corrosion Resistance: Unlike steel, it will not rust. Unlike standard copper, it highly resists the harsh chemical road salts and grit common on UK roads during winter.
  • High Fatigue Strength: Under constant vehicle vibration and pressure spikes, standard copper can work-harden and eventually crack. Kunifer has a much higher fatigue limit, making it significantly safer for modern braking systems.
  • Easy to Flare and Bend: You do not need a heavy-duty hydraulic press to get a perfect DIN or SAE double flare. It flares cleanly with standard workshop hand tools and bends smoothly without kinking, saving you time when routing around tight bulkheads and chassis legs.

Workshop Tips for Installation

To get a professional finish, we recommend using a handheld pipe straightener before making your bends. When flaring Kunifer, always ensure the cut is perfectly square and deburred inside and out. This prevents the flare from splitting or forming unevenly, ensuring a leak-free seal against your brake unions on the first attempt.

Note: Pipe appearance may vary slightly from the image shown depending on production batches, but the material specification remains strictly high-grade Copper Nickel.
