Professional Grade Copper Nickel (Kunifer) Brake Pipe

When you're replacing corroded brake lines on a vehicle that faces the harsh realities of UK roads, standard copper isn't always the best choice. While pure copper is soft and easy to route, Copper Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) is the industry standard for a professional, long-lasting repair.

Kunifer combines the workability of copper with the strength of nickel. This gives it a significantly higher fatigue strength and superior resistance to corrosion, road salt, and mechanical wear. Unlike standard copper, which can work-harden and become brittle under constant vehicle vibration, Copper Nickel retains its integrity, making it the safest option for high-pressure hydraulic braking systems and fuel lines.

Why Use Kunifer in Your Workshop?

  • Superior Corrosion Resistance: Highly resistant to the road salt and moisture that rot out standard steel and copper lines, ensuring the vehicle passes its MOT year after year.
  • High Fatigue Strength: Engineered to withstand the constant vibration of suspension and engine movement without cracking or failing.
  • Excellent Workability: While slightly stiffer than pure copper, it can still be easily bent by hand or with a pipe bender without kinking, and it takes a perfect single or double flare (SAE or DIN) every time.
  • High Pressure Rating: Safely handles the extreme hydraulic pressures generated by modern ABS and braking systems.

Mechanic's Tip:

When flaring Kunifer, ensure you use a decent quality flaring tool. Because the material is tougher than standard copper, cheap budget flaring tools can slip or produce uneven flares. A drop of brake fluid on the die before punching the flare will keep the operation smooth and prevent the pipe from splitting.

Please note: The physical appearance or packaging of the pipe coil may differ from the image shown, but the material specification and quality remain strictly to professional standards.
