Punch - Flaring Tool
Every brake technician knows that a flaring tool is only as good as its punch. If your current punch is worn, chipped, or missing, it’s impossible to get the clean, leak-free seal required for high-pressure braking systems. This replacement punch is engineered specifically for use with professional-grade Automatic and Universal Flaring Tools, restoring your setup to workshop-ready condition.
Please note: This listing is for the replacement punch only. The main flaring tool assembly is not included.
Built for Tougher Lines
While standard copper pipe is easy to flare, modern workshop standards demand tougher materials. Copper-Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) is the preferred choice for professional brake line replacement due to its superior corrosion resistance and high fatigue strength. However, Kunifer is significantly harder than standard copper. This punch is manufactured to withstand the extra force required to form precise flares on these tougher alloys, as well as traditional copper, without deforming or slipping under pressure.
Key Workshop Benefits:
Precision Engineered: Delivers consistent, factory-quality flares to ensure a perfect, leak-free seal against brake unions.
Heavy-Duty Construction: Built to handle the resistance of Kunifer (Copper-Nickel) and steel lines without premature wear.
Direct Compatibility: Designed to fit standard bench-mounted Automatic and Universal flaring tools.
Essential Spare: Keeps your bay running—having a spare punch on hand prevents downtime when a tool fails mid-job.
Punch for use with the Automatic and Universal Flaring Tools.
N.B. Please note the tool is not included with this product.
Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.
