Punch - Flaring Tool

Precision Replacement Flaring Punch for Brake Pipe Fabrication

When you are fabricating brake lines, there is zero room for error. A poorly formed flare means a weeping joint, a failed MOT, and wasted workshop time. This precision-machined replacement punch is designed specifically for use with Automatic and Universal Flaring Tools, ensuring you get a factory-standard flare every single time.

Please note: This listing is for the individual punch only. The flaring tool itself is not included.

Engineered for Hard-Wearing Materials

While traditional copper pipe is soft and easy to work with, most professional workshops and restorers prefer Copper Nickel (commonly known as Kunifer, CuNi, or NiCopp) due to its superior corrosion resistance and high fatigue strength. However, Kunifer is significantly tougher than standard copper. Cheap, soft punches will deform or slip when flaring these harder pipes.

This punch is engineered from high-grade, hardened steel to withstand the high-pressure demands of flaring Kunifer, delivering a clean, perfectly formed flare without splitting or marring the pipe, while remaining equally effective on standard copper lines.

Why This Punch Belongs in Your Tool Chest:

  • Perfect Compatibility: Designed to fit standard Automatic and Universal Flaring Tools.
  • Built for Kunifer & Copper: Hardened construction easily handles the extra resistance of copper-nickel alloys without wearing down.
  • Leak-Free Seals: Precision profile ensures a sharp, accurate flare that seats perfectly into brake unions.
  • Minimize Downtime: Flaring punches are high-wear items. Keeping a replacement on hand prevents you from getting stuck mid-job when a punch wears out or gets damaged.

Punch for use with the Automatic and Universal Flaring Tools.

N.B. Please note the tool is not included with this product.

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.

We can manufacture pipes to your exact specifications.
