Punch - Flaring Tool

When you're fabricating brake lines in a busy workshop, your flaring tool takes a beating. This replacement punch is designed specifically for use with professional Automatic and Universal Flaring Tools, ensuring you can continue to produce precise, leak-free flares without having to replace the entire rig.

While standard copper pipe is easy to form, most modern workshops prefer Copper Nickel (Kunifer/CuNi) for its superior corrosion resistance and high fatigue strength. However, Kunifer is significantly tougher than standard copper. Attempting to flare it with a worn, chipped, or low-grade punch will result in deformed flares, split pipe ends, and potential leaks. This heavy-duty punch is engineered to handle the extra resistance of Kunifer, delivering clean, consistent flares every time.

Key Workshop Benefits:

  • Built for Tougher Alloys: Engineered to withstand the pressure required to flare Copper Nickel (Kunifer/NiCopp) as well as traditional copper lines.
  • Precision Machined: Minimizes the risk of split pipe ends and ensures a perfect seat against brake calipers, wheel cylinders, and joiners.
  • Direct Replacement: Fits standard Automatic and Universal flaring tools seamlessly, keeping your downtime to a minimum.

Please Note: This listing is for the individual punch only. The main flaring tool body is not included.

Mechanic's Tip: When flaring harder materials like Kunifer, always apply a dab of pipe-flaring lubricant or clean brake fluid to the tip of the punch. This reduces friction, prevents the pipe from sticking, and significantly extends the service life of both the punch and the die.

N.B. Please note the tool is not included with this product.

Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.

We can manufacture pipes to your exact specifications.
