Deburrer 3/16"
If you've ever fought a weeping brake union, you know that preparation is everything. Cutting a brake pipe—whether it's soft copper or tough Copper Nickel (Kunifer)—always leaves a sharp, ragged burr. If you don't clear that excess material before flaring, your flaring tool won't sit square, the flare will split, and you’ll be cutting it off to start the job again.
This compact, hand-held deburring tool is designed to quickly clean up both the internal and external edges of small-diameter tubing. It’s an essential prep step for fabricating brake lines, fuel lines, or air suspension plumbing. It works hand-in-hand with the 000160 mini pipe bender to help you produce professional-grade, factory-looking pipework on the bench or right under the wheel arch.
Why Proper Deburring Matters for Kunifer Pipes
While traditional copper pipe is soft and easy to manipulate, most workshops now prefer Copper Nickel (CuNi, Kunifer, or NiCopp) because of its superior fatigue strength and high resistance to road salt and corrosion. However, Kunifer is significantly harder than standard copper. Attempting to flare a freshly cut Kunifer pipe without deburring it first can ruin your flaring dies and result in an uneven, unsafe seal. This tool makes quick work of the harder alloy, ensuring a clean, chamfered edge ready for a perfect double or bubble flare.
Key Workshop Benefits:
Dual-Ended Utility: Easily cleans up both the inside (ID) and outside (OD) of the pipe in seconds.
Compact Footprint: Small enough to fit in your pocket or use in tight spaces under the vehicle where clearance is tight.
Saves Your Dies: Removing the hard outer ridge on Kunifer tubing prevents premature wear on expensive flaring tool dies.
System Compatibility: Designed to complement the 000160 mini pipe bender for a complete brake-line fabrication workflow.
This small hand held deburring tool can be used in conjunction with the 000160 mini pipe bender.
Copper pipes are more traditional and easier to work with however Copper Nickel (aka CuNI, Kunifer, cupro-nickel or NiCopp) is more resistant to corrosion and has a higher fatigue strength.
